Our Sun..lightless and brightless

Ever stopped to consider how your life revolves around a certain few places. like when we were kids, our centrifuge was school and home. We Grew up a little and it moves from the home to the school and a few other hang out places, maybe a friends place, may be a pizza place, maybe a plaza, whatever it is it then revolves around that. Then comes college and thus a whole myriad of places around which we revolve. Then again, looking at it from a bigger perspective its still the same city. No matter where we go some days you just realize that these points these places in your life define you. Like today while I was doing a most routine Jog in my Colony Park and i ran by my 5th class maths teacher, naturally you stop to reminiscence for 5 minutes. A little later I jogged past my Economics Professor, and again I stopped to greet. Just then it struck me how (I'm not making a point) separate points of my being are brought together at one place. Ofcourse i wont be so humble as to say my life revolves around a park. All existence is defined by a place. Now the reason I haven't said the much clichéd "around a person or a people" well it does but what I've come to realize is that all we humans are merely transitory.

There is no guarantee of our existence. And if Existentialism is a norm then all of us are Sisyphus es!!! after all our lives no matter the place become as routine as Sisyphus's punishment and whats more, is that we are tragic because no one, not one of us realize that. People make our lives the way they are but we are rooted to the places that are our focus because after all its the place or one of the places that bring us into contact with those people too. There was no point to this nothing to make, i'm not a lawyer. But its something bizarrely bare to all theories contradicting Existentialism. I've only heard of the theory but odds are I've come to believe in it...You think?

Racist India.

Celebrity Big Brother, Jane Goody and Shilpa Shetty. These are all names brought into the limelight recently. The charge of racism has fanned the sparks and set ablaze age old Colonial Indian resentments. Sitting in India one only hears of how Indians in the US or the Uk are mistreated. We are aware of the skinheads and other forms of racial discrimination. India has always strongly protested apartheid in South Africa. Being exposed to racial discrimination we have become a nation sensitive to the victims of this polluted social behavior.

But cry outrage and let loose the dogs of war!! Neo sports in anticipation of the West Indies - India cricket match came out with ads which are racially discriminating. Agreed National spirit and Unity in the face of a match on home ground will bubble up and we all stand on the soil we patriotically support. Its not a excuse however, to mistreat the West Indies cricketers. Sincerely answer, would any one not racist refuse water to anyone? Would a foreigner in India enjoying a boat ride with a loved one be frowned apon and abandoned just because of the color of his skin? I'm sure if it where a white, Indians being the way we are would have fawned apon the white skinned and not only not offered them water would have brought anythings so desired by the white skin.

Much as Piyush Pandey ("creative" director of Ogilvy and Mather) would deny this and tell anti racism activists to go take a "beep". the fact remains that this discriminating treatment holds true. In a country with illiterate and rural population far surpassing the literate, and with cricket as its primary source of entertainment. These ads encourage and impart a wrong message. That just because these West Indians are darker than us let us deny them water. Australia, England have all played here in India, Pakistan too. But never has such filthy treatment been meted out to them. it is the part of the educated to behave responsibly and send out a message to the many illiterate. Every second Indian teenager with fervor-ous cricketing drive would want to mistreat a black in India, in emulating this advertisement.

It seems that the "creative" flow of O&M has dried up. Some one said that the ad bolsters collective ego. Ego??? is this shabby treatment of guests an ego bolstering matter? does our ego need bolstering? If the same was to happen to the Indian team in West Indies would any Indian have tolerated it????

Lets ask Piyush Pandey!! Cry foul on the treatment of shilpa shetty yet how superflous are we? Just because they are black!! let me see an advertisement with as much reach and popularity as these Neo Sports ads treat a white person in the same way and i would drop my protest. Pandey should be sacked. Enjoy cricket but maintain a certain standard. we don't need to stoop so low. I know a statement i am about to make will earn me a lot of discredit but in the face of this filthy ad. I wish West India wins just to show up the stupid ad.
Mankind or amoeba?

These things we do
The reasons for branching like flu
a knot here , a group there
A friend we once knew
A face from which we always flew

Starting from this bunch
running in-between lines ,
this one's nice i have a hunch
oh! that one pines

Splintering, shattering, opening, closing
no better than red elephants posing
mankind or amoeba?
Faithful, loyal, honour bound
Oh thats all round!!

solitary, popularity, ways of a species
ways of a group, ways of an individual
where does one belong?
In the abyss of the divisible?
Or on a mountain of sole hermitage?

Dilemma of life, we row
hope and faith, go with the flow?
or stand firm as the utilitarian man?
forever worshiping Jeremy Bentham

Hey!! for those who did not get this...i'm just taking about how allegiances are always changing! how one day one finds themselves the inner circle of this group and two weeks later you are with some one else..sometimes you find those few people you know you'd always be with. But sometimes you just want to exist as a solitary being. The social moods of man...thats what i was harping about...abstract?? maybe i don't know. I'm just expressing myself.

Moral Shoral!!!!

We are so proud of our country. when it comes down to an India Pakistan match each and everyone is a zealot. When it comes to a permanent seat in the UNSC, we demand it as a right India earns. I can go on about our nationalistic passions. What i really want to know is if you are so nationalistic, why does it become so hard to bend down and pick up your litter? Why cant you spit your pan and other disgusting bodily discharges in a sanitary way and away from the public. Why can't you behave in a more decent manner with women. Why does every sentence spoken need to be punctuated with a "bc" or a "mc"?

Is it a cultural thing to do the above mentioned? What i don't understand is we delhites treat the metro as a matter of city pride. Yet i have seen more than a few people spitting red pans and just spitting otherwise on the walls of the stations. Then show a toothy grin as an acknowledgment and pride in the fact that rules were broken. It is their spit that will go down in history as the first spit to ever adorn the walls of the metro. The edict to Indian culture to stand through the face of time!! Then there is something that i really must clarify. Why must you pee in anyplace apart from a toilet. Does it gratify some remote un-understandable nationalistic passion? Or have humans taken to marking their territory as does mans best friend.

When traveling to college or just here and there, there is atleast one monument which is something that really is a part of our heritage. Yet it is defaced by thousands of "bittoos" loving another thousand "pinkys". Really where is the pride? Talk of culture. Indian indegenious tribes are being destroyed in the face of national pride. I've recently been fully made aware to the Narmada struggle. In the mire of political battles one kurta clad bigshot trods down a thousand skinny boned bodies living hand to mouth. All in the name of our great nation.

it seems breaking rules are a way of life. Some thrills we all get in breaking school rules, college rules. When and where to grow up, be an adult is something no one seems to know or doesn't want learn. the fact that jaywalking is illegal in India yet it is immensely satisfying to walk right into the car and cross the road. Traffic rules!! really have you heard of them? You can't blame the government. The least they do is provide us with dustbins, build nice smooth roads. Infact it is a particular itch that a brand new road must at all costs be dug up and left in ruin. God knows, Pakistan will rule the world if it isn't dug up!!!

Is it so hard to ask for responsibility with pride. Make our country a place to really be proud of. That India can be defended on moral grounds and not just with macho militant thought. Is it so hard to ask for restraint on the apparent pleasures of spitting, peeing, blowing your nose, littering on the roads. Is it so hard to ask for a safe city for half of mankind for somebody's mother, or someone's daughter or sister? Is it so hard to ask for politeness. Is its so hard?

Its a common known fact. A foreigner in India is stared at followed around and maybe the attractions of "white skin" are just to powerful. Is a little self respect too much to ask for? I love my country and thats why this is so hard to bear. My friends think i'm non nationalistic and i hate my country. That is not true!! i can't bear the thought of associating myself to something that is morally reprehensible to me. My country is mine. I love it. Thats why i clean up. thats why i try my best to make a difference.

Some where In this Life;

O Aching Heart how shall i quieten you?
O merciless seas why do you torture us so?
Where are the ends of the trials of time
and where are the ends of the trials of distance
The time you go...and the time you come.
And in between there ends no time.

Searing wounds tear at the heart,
they burn the soul, bind the eyes with
drops of golden tears.
O heavens that send angels......
O guardians of mankind.......
can you bare to see such sorrow?

When the rays of the setting sun fall
on the last shores; as day departs with
the glory of his warmth and the beauty of
his wisdom. When the rays of the setting sun
fall on the last shores of this aching heart
When away the tears you wipe with
the smile of your heart.

The smile that is more than rain to arid desert
The laugh that is more than love to the dying
The hug that is more than the last warm waves
of departing day; So sweet is your kiss
so tender are your lips. The embrace of your arms
are like the warmth of a blanket on a misty winter
night.

O bear me across the shores of this violent world
into the arms of the waiting heart. O lift me
from this whirl of religion and life
and family and strife. For in your arms o Departing day,
O golden Ray of setting sun, does forever lie the life
that i cherish and protect.
For in your arms lie the heart thats mine beating in
that wonderful breast. For in your eyes
is an image. There i behold my own reflection

And there i stay till death do us part.
