Moral Shoral!!!!

We are so proud of our country. when it comes down to an India Pakistan match each and everyone is a zealot. When it comes to a permanent seat in the UNSC, we demand it as a right India earns. I can go on about our nationalistic passions. What i really want to know is if you are so nationalistic, why does it become so hard to bend down and pick up your litter? Why cant you spit your pan and other disgusting bodily discharges in a sanitary way and away from the public. Why can't you behave in a more decent manner with women. Why does every sentence spoken need to be punctuated with a "bc" or a "mc"?

Is it a cultural thing to do the above mentioned? What i don't understand is we delhites treat the metro as a matter of city pride. Yet i have seen more than a few people spitting red pans and just spitting otherwise on the walls of the stations. Then show a toothy grin as an acknowledgment and pride in the fact that rules were broken. It is their spit that will go down in history as the first spit to ever adorn the walls of the metro. The edict to Indian culture to stand through the face of time!! Then there is something that i really must clarify. Why must you pee in anyplace apart from a toilet. Does it gratify some remote un-understandable nationalistic passion? Or have humans taken to marking their territory as does mans best friend.

When traveling to college or just here and there, there is atleast one monument which is something that really is a part of our heritage. Yet it is defaced by thousands of "bittoos" loving another thousand "pinkys". Really where is the pride? Talk of culture. Indian indegenious tribes are being destroyed in the face of national pride. I've recently been fully made aware to the Narmada struggle. In the mire of political battles one kurta clad bigshot trods down a thousand skinny boned bodies living hand to mouth. All in the name of our great nation.

it seems breaking rules are a way of life. Some thrills we all get in breaking school rules, college rules. When and where to grow up, be an adult is something no one seems to know or doesn't want learn. the fact that jaywalking is illegal in India yet it is immensely satisfying to walk right into the car and cross the road. Traffic rules!! really have you heard of them? You can't blame the government. The least they do is provide us with dustbins, build nice smooth roads. Infact it is a particular itch that a brand new road must at all costs be dug up and left in ruin. God knows, Pakistan will rule the world if it isn't dug up!!!

Is it so hard to ask for responsibility with pride. Make our country a place to really be proud of. That India can be defended on moral grounds and not just with macho militant thought. Is it so hard to ask for restraint on the apparent pleasures of spitting, peeing, blowing your nose, littering on the roads. Is it so hard to ask for a safe city for half of mankind for somebody's mother, or someone's daughter or sister? Is it so hard to ask for politeness. Is its so hard?

Its a common known fact. A foreigner in India is stared at followed around and maybe the attractions of "white skin" are just to powerful. Is a little self respect too much to ask for? I love my country and thats why this is so hard to bear. My friends think i'm non nationalistic and i hate my country. That is not true!! i can't bear the thought of associating myself to something that is morally reprehensible to me. My country is mine. I love it. Thats why i clean up. thats why i try my best to make a difference.
